Night Watch
When the office closes, the phone lines stay open. Night Watch volunteers ensure someone is always there to answer the call.
What Is Night Watch?
Night Watch is a committee of volunteers who answer the AA Helpline during all hours that the Central Office is closed. These dedicated members coordinate 12th Step calls and provide information and support to anyone who reaches out.
Coverage Schedule
- Weekends: Friday 5:00 PM through Tuesday 9:00 AM (fourteen shifts)
- Weeknights: Two shifts per night — 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and 11:00 PM to 9:00 AM
Volunteers accept calls, assess the situation, and take appropriate action — whether that means providing meeting information, arranging a 12th Step call, or simply being someone to talk to.
Volunteer
Night Watch always needs volunteers. If you’re interested in this vital service opportunity:
- Contact the Central Office: [email protected]
- Pick up a current Night Watch packet at the Central Office
