A Central Office is an AA service center built on partnership among groups in the community. We carry out functions common to all AA groups — functions that are best maintained, supervised, and supported by groups working together in their common interest.
Our History
In 1963, twenty AA meetings in the Denver metro area recognized the need for a Central Office. By 1966, the first Central Office found its home at 2801 E. Colfax. Established by local AA groups to perform services that would be difficult for individual groups to handle alone, the office has flourished for over half a century and remains an integral part of the Denver area fellowship.
What We Do
- 24-Hour Helpline — Connecting people who need help with someone who understands
- Meeting Directory — Maintaining an up-to-date list of hundreds of meetings across the Denver metro area
- 12th Step Calls — Coordinating volunteers to meet with people seeking help
- Literature Sales — Conference-approved AA and Grapevine publications
- Bridge the Gap — Connecting people leaving treatment with local AA meetings
- Night Watch — Volunteer phone coverage evenings, nights, and weekends
- Events — Unity Day Picnic and Longtimers Brunch
- The Last Drop — Local newsletter for the Denver AA community
